Natalie’s graduation from 5th grade was quite an event. The fifth grade spent a day at Islands of Adventure. Then the next day they had a beach bash with inflatable slides, bounce houses and D.J. The banquet the last day of school tied it all up. We turned the Cafeteria into a movie theatre room complete w/ paparazzi barriers (Thanks Tori and Pintrest!), red carpet and tons of gold stars. One mom made CD’s for each student highlighting their fifth grade events and showing each student’s baby pictures. At the end of the day the school did the traditional Clap Out.  Every student and teacher at the school lined the sidewalks and clapped as the fifth graders lined up in a parade and took their last steps as elementary students out to their parents waiting cars. Yes, I got teary. It was a very sweet day and I now officially have a middle schooler.
