Swept Away

I started falling in love with books in the 5th grade. I quickly realized as a poor, small town girl that a book could in moments take me places I had never dreamed of and turn me into someone I would have never thought to become on my own. A great author could transform me into the fastest, smartest, prettiest […]

Jehovah-Jireh

I didn’t want hominy again.  In fact I felt like if I had to eat one more bite I would vomit. At nine, I did not realize the reasons behind the third day of having to eat the yellow, round kernels of grit I was trying to focus on chewing and swallowing. I was just tired of it.  I wanted […]

Dog Beach

We took Maximus to the beach for the first time while we were in Naples. We have been trying to get him into the pool at home for a year so we thought going to the beach would make him more interested in the water. He loved it. He was hesitant initially and did a high paw dance that looked […]

Peace and Love kinda day

Kobe and I took Mo coffee at work and got an impromptu tour of the area he was training in. Kobe loved getting to see his dad in action. On the way back to the hotel we picked up donuts from Peace, Love and Lots of Donuts. The owner Isabelle was a delight to talk to, we spent 20 minutes […]

Resting

We stayed at the Residence Inn by Marriott because they are pet friendly. We spent most of our trip being lazy in the hotel. It was my favorite.  Days of rest and togetherness, it’s all I needed.

The Messenger

I was around seven or eight when I realized that there was two way communication between us and God. I knew we could pray to Him and He would hear us, I just didn’t know He could send messages down to us.There was a Jack and Jill bathroom that separated my moms room from the one I shared with my […]

God is in Our Stories

I am not sure when I first learned about God. I have no memories that exclude Him. Though I was raised in church from an infant that is not where I learned about the character and presence of Yahweh. It wasn’t from the Bible though I loved listening to the stories growing up and always won Bible trivia in vacation […]

Hiking Adventures

This morning I got up and decided we needed some sun and exercise. I have been wanting to explore more of the state parks in our area. We went to Lower Hillsborough Wilderness Reserve. On the website it said it was open but the area along the river was closed off which was a bummer because that’s were the alligators […]

Quarantine Hair

I have been wearing protective styles since the quarantine started. Mostly twist and French braids. My hair loves the break from styling. It is less frizzy, retaining moisture and grown so much in just a few months. Almost to my goal of looking of #diannaross.

Piano Recital 2020

Normally the kids have their piano recital at USFs school of music. They sit on stage and play on a beautiful grande piano. This year we did zoom recitals. Amanda, their piano teacher came by a few days early to give Natalie her 5 year award. It was a sad moment when Kobe ran out of the house to greet […]
