We stumbled upon a family of about 30 horse shoe crabs while walking the beach during our get together for Journey’s birthday. Thanks to technology (Bam’s phone), we were able to google on the spot information. Did you know that the copper based blue blood from the horse shoe crab is used in the medical field to test the purity of medicine? Some parts of the shell are also used to speed blood clotting. How cool is that!
