The Hunt family has quickly become very dear friends. Besides walking through the serious issues we face daily in the education system that come with having differently abled children, we also always have an amazing amount of fun when our families get together. Especially when we throw in a little Wii competition. I thought we were competitive! It is nice walking with another family in a common desire to change the current misconceptions about children with disabilities. We are becoming more comfortable with words like inclusion, advocacy and disability rights. We have heard of these terms but like many found it easier to skate around them. Easier to not rumple any feathers. We are learning to live within the possibilities and hope that each of those terms can bring. Life has a way of demanding that we make the decision to move forward or stay still and remain a part of the problem. We are choosing to be change agents.
