Easter was such a beautiful, perfect day. Church then food and mid afternoon naps. Ahhhh. Dying the eggs on Saturday was quite the project as it always is. No one drank any dye this year so that was a plus. Unfortunately the kids still went to church with colorful hands. I was ultra proud of my cupcakes. I died shredded coconut green for grass and placed malted eggs on top. They would have been even prettier but I placed them in the oven out of the kids view after making them on Saturday night and forgot they were there Sunday morning when I warmed the oven for cinnamon rolls. I quickly smelled my mistake thank goodness but there was still a little heat damage done. Oh, well…they were yummy with the melted chocolate.

I wrote a story prompted by my writing group. It's about church, community and racism. Since I published it on my blog I have had so many people reach out with the same shared experience. It's been comforting. Then I found out there is a whole movement of people sharing their stories of leaving church spaces that refuse to respond to racism and injustice. Thank you @thewitnessbcc. Too close? Just making sure ya'll see these curls. Had my favorite curly girl expert @torrensalicia cut the back of my hair (looser curl pattern) even with the tightly coiled girls at the top. Love the shape that was created. Ima release the desire of length for a fuller style. #curlygirlmethod #natural #innersence
